Practical design of the pad.
The thing will be about the practicality of using a pad. But not some kind of mousepad - we are talking about Volcano Erebus. And it's not about either the material it's made of or its size, because that's not what this entry will be about. It's about design and practicality.
The pad comes in two versions. The first is called Volcano Erebus, and the second is called Volcano Erebus Black. They differ in one thing - appearance. As you can probably guess, the pad with the name "Black" is simply a black pad, without any graphics. This overall sleek and minimalist design fits any desk and decor. If you are an aesthete, such a black pad will be a cool accessory for your gaming desk. It is both modern and fashionable and versatile - there may not be a "wow" effect, but the pad will not get boring.
The second mouse pad, the Volcano Erebus, has a rather bold manufacturer's design all over it, namely the Volcano Gaming logo. Some people may find this design flashy, others will find that this red and black doesn't quite match their favorite, for example, the blue RGB backlighting on the mouse and keyboard. I know it's impossible to get along with everyone. But the mousepad has one advantage - it simply gets less dirty. Although that's not quite true - that dirt is there, but you don't see it as much as on a single-color surface.
If you can't see, it means clean.
A pad of this size acts as such a mini tablecloth. First of all, not only can it fit a keyboard and mouse on it, but it also covers quite a large part of the tabletop. Secondly, it is a cool accessory for gaming or work because of its practicality. Let's not kid ourselves - probably more than once or twice on the desk will stand a plate of soup or fatty food, a cup of coffee or tea, or some can of energy drink. Not to mention candy bars, chocolate, cookies, chips and other snacks. And here it's only a step away from accidentally spilling or staining the coaster.
That's when the pattern on the Volcano Erebus surface comes to the rescue. Red hues transitioning into different shades, topped with red spots - it all adds up to a cool design, which is meant to fool our eye in a way and seems to shout "hey! I really am clean!". That's why placing a mug from which coffee has "accidentally" spilled is not a big problem - on this coaster you simply don't see it at first glance. It is safe to say that such coasters are more practical than those without graphics. For people who don't like to clean often and want to keep relatively more order, the bold design will be one of the reasons why they will choose it.
Of course, I encourage you to clean the pad systematically. Bacteria on it, food residue or even exfoliated dead skin is nothing pleasant for our body. Therefore, take care of the hygiene of the stand. But I can understand anyone who, choosing such a pad with graphics, sometimes consciously "cheats" reality, keeping a seemingly more orderly desk 😉.
